Denim care guide

Caring for your pants and jeans can be a bit confusing for many people, because what are the do's and don'ts? There are many persistent myths out there, some more dubious than others. In this guide, we will provide some simple tips on how to care for your jeans. Tips that are easy to remember and make the whole thing more manageable.

Among the many myths surrounding jeans care, you've probably heard that you shouldn't wash your jeans or that you should freeze your jeans before wearing them. All of this and more can be true, and we believe you should do what you've done successfully. However, you should also keep in mind that if jeans are of high quality, they are an incredibly durable material.

The tips we provide are therefore only meant to make your jeans last longer. Although we do not recommend a trip to the tumble dryer, for example, a single tumble dry will not be noticeable in the big picture.

How to care for jeans

Wash less

As mentioned, jeans are an incredibly hard-wearing and durable material. However, many people still make the mistake of thinking that they need to be washed after a single use. This is far from the case. Only wash when you actually need to, such as when your pants are dirty. This will make your pants last longer and retain their color better. When washing your pants, a good tip is to turn the inside of the pants inside out. This means that the wash itself will be gentler on the pants.

Wash cold

To best preserve the color, shape and durability of your jeans, it's important to wash your jeans cold. That is, 30 degrees Celsius or below. Another tip is to only use liquid detergent, as powdered detergent can leave white marks on your jeans. It's also a good idea to use only a small amount of detergent and sometimes you can even leave out detergent. Most of the time, you can get your jeans clean by washing them without detergent.

If you do have a stain, it can just as easily be removed by taking a small amount of detergent, applying it to the specific spot, leaving it for an hour or so and then washing the jeans as normal.
